At NovoServe, our peering policy is fundamentally open. We believe in building a faster, more resilient internet through extensive interconnection. However, to ensure we can deliver the best possible network performance for all our clients, we have the following guidelines in place.
IPv4 & IPv6 Sessions: We establish both IPv4 and IPv6 peering sessions proactively.
IPv6 Routing: Please note that while we set up IPv6 sessions, we may not announce routes over them immediately. We do this to ensure that as IPv6 traffic grows, we can activate routing without the delay of setting up new sessions.
On Internet Exchanges (IXs), we generally prefer to use route servers for efficiency. A direct session becomes desirable if traffic between our networks exceeds 2 Gbps (P95) in either direction.
To further enhance performance, decentralize connectivity, and improve customer experience, we actively set up PNIs with partners.
Our general threshold for establishing a PNI is when traffic between our networks reaches 10 Gbps (P95). For all PNIs, we use direct cross-connects with 100G-LR4 (802.3ba compliant) media. However, networks exchanging less traffic may still be considered for a PNI based on strategic value.
Available PNI Locations
A PNI can be established in any of the following shared facilities:
Nikhef Housing (Science Park 105, Amsterdam)
Iron Mountain AMS-1 (J.W. Lucasweg 35, Haarlem)
Interxion AMS-3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 (Amsterdam, Schiphol Area)
Other locations may be possible after a review of the specific conditions.
